In 2013, I offered you the interview with Sébastien Mahé, coach U19 DH of AS.Ménimur (56). This interview had made you discover his journey, but also his way of working with young players and in particular his great passion that motivates him every day. It was a very enriching moment for the site and its readers through many tips and broadcasts. Since then, the course of Sébastien has been enriched and in a year and a half he has happened to him many events. I followed his evolution from the last interview and I wanted him to share with you this year and a half made of great moments (happy and unhappy) inclined with work and passions.

We had left you in 2013, in Menimur in DH U19, we find you today at Carnac FC where officiated as the main coat for the second season (DSR) can you introduce us to your club?
Carnac FC is a healthy and very welcoming club. I felt at ease very quickly. The structure is less cumbersome than in Ménimur but there are the same fans. Great success, always motivated volunteers … the club has an excellent football school. In addition, the club has renewed its quality football label. Unfortunately, in young people, the pyramid remains incomplete because we have neither U17 nor U19 but we work there to remedy. In the elderly we have 2 teams playing in DSR and D2. The gap is important and our priority is to reduce it that it will be complicated as long as we do not have a third team. As for the infrastructure, they are quite exceptional with a magnificent field of honor, an equally beautiful training ground and a synthetic.
Explain how this opportunity came to you?
The underway coach had announced his retirement at the end of the championship. I knew President Loïc Arhuero because I had had one of his children like Ménimur. The contact has been established like this. We met a stone shot from the end of the season. Contact with leaders was excellent at the beginning. I heard that there was a real long -term project. After an hour of exchange between Loïc, Christophe Guillevic, who succeeded him as president and Yannick the Gulvan, quickly reached an agreement. They offered me a superb opportunity, I heard that there was confidence. I didn’t need much time to make a decision. I joined the project on the same day.
Isn’t it something that was possible in your club?
Yes and no. Ménimur is a big and beautiful family, a club that marks you in the common sense of the word. I spent 8 exceptional seasons there. The coach underway was not resigned but after 4 years at the head of the club, he was thanked. Under these conditions, it was not conceivable that I would happen to him. I am not a profitator above all that supported me during our collaboration! The other reason is that I had 80% of the senior workforce in young people. Some choices would have made me cases of consciousness even if I knew I would be right in my decisions.

However, this departure was made in excellent condition. I warned the club very early for my change of change. The leaders understood it very well. I keep following the club’s results and I remain his first supporter while knowing that Ménimurian friends also follow me.
How was your choice? Was it natural where it was difficult to take?
My choice to go to young people in the senior world was made very early in the season. I had the desire of a little. However, it was important for me to go to the end of the mission that the ASM had entrusted me: generation 94. The last season was a gift year, strong in emotion with the gradual incorporation of the boys in the DSR. The realization of a 5 -year project! We went to the end of the adventure all together with a 32 ° of Gambardella against Châteauroux.
I think this choice is natural when you are passionate how I can be. I had desires, curiosities, motivation to see something else and progress. I also had the plan to train my brothers again, which encouraged me for a long time to go to the course.
Suddenly you entered a new project, how did you prepare this first season with very unknown?
The situation was special after a difficult season at Carnac FC. Many players were at the beginning. I tried to keep as many players as possible, but the mission was complicated. 6 DSE players have decided to increase the challenge. At that time, I went in search of the 8 changed people I had. Finally, we managed to complete the two teams from a quantitative point of view. However, it was Fai -Da -Te and the two teams have evolved without any margin throughout the season. Fortunately, these difficulties united the players who played from start to finish. An excellent atmosphere has been created that allows the two groups to evolve and progress.
Have you built a staff? A core for hard player? What do you base you to mount this team?
It was essential! To start with the elderly, you needed someone solid, someone who had all my trust. With the leaders we did our best to convince Vincent Le Ny to join us in this slightly crazy project. A great player who had known all the climbs of Carnac FC as a coach.
As for the players, I wanted to trust good guys! Guys I had trained in the past and who had my trust. Guys with whom I could go to war without hesitation. I didn’t do so much “Paris”! I wanted safe values in the mood. And then the players taking place for several seasons have done their best to help the new ones integrate quickly.
Suddenly, to build the team, I was able to rely on different certainties because I knew all the players. The spine of the team had experience, but the fighters were missing in the key moments, in particular the fault of the injuries.
How do your feelings evolve during this difficult season? Motivation? Hopes? Lowering? Are there times when you thought of stopping?
The season is dotted with a descent but it was not difficult. There have been disappointing games but overall there have been many more good than the bad times. I do not encounter motivation problems. I want to go to football every day. It doesn’t matter the context. My motivation remained intact despite disappointments. The arrest is not possible, I do not leave the ship in the first difficulty. I took refuge in the work trying to offer the best possible sessions to remedy our gaps. When the paid work were several weeks of great joys shared all together. It was a concrete culmination compared to the efforts made. Unfortunately, the cavity of the return phase will have been fatal.
The players had confidence in me, out of the question to give in to the reduction or fatality, we played the game until the end so as not to distort the championship and finish the best possible.
In the years played and those trained we will have 30 years at the end of the season. As for the stop, it is not planned whatever the result.
What did you rely on? On who keep the course?
I rely on the game. At no time I said to myself: “We are about to get a cement to get a 0-0”. I judged that only the pleasure of playing and being together could save us, but it turned out to be insufficient. The minimum we can say is that we have not been successful in different decisive games. Yet speaking footballing …
I already had the support of all leaders. The climate is serene in Carnac and I feel I am trusted. The president supports us whatever the result. It emerges only positive. Subsequently, I designed a lot on my B who has the high -level experience as a player and coach. His help and friendship are precious resources for a young coach like me. I also entrusted the team managers who invested 200% in the maintenance operation and then to prepare for the current season.
